The implementation of the warehouse automation system has been completed at the PZPM

At the notebook storage warehouse of the Polotnyano-Zavodskaya Paper Manufactory work on the implementation of WMS — an information system that provides automation of business process management of warehouse operations — was completed. The work was carried out by the specialists of AXELOT with the participation of the employees of the enterprise. AXELOT WMS X5 came out as a software solution.

The aims of automation were to get rid of manual operations during acceptance and shipping of finished goods and to increase the accuracy of tracking the presence of goods in the warehouse.

Before the introduction of WMS at the warehouse staff all the documents on internal, incoming and outgoing traffic of goods formed in the information system 1C CPP, then these documents were verified by employees performing the tasks. Planning the placement of goods according to ABC-classification, FIFO principle during selection, determination of the order of loading on the vehicle — all this was controlled and carried out manually. The search for empty bins in the warehouse was performed visually: after inspection, the storekeeper made a list and gave it to the forklift driver who, in turn, placed the goods.

The introduction of AXELOT WMS X5 allowed these warehouse operations to be automated: they are now planned and controlled in the system. WMS assigns tasks to the staff and records their execution with the help of data collection terminals. For this purpose, all the necessary equipment has been purchased, employees involved in the process have been properly trained, settings and improvements were made to exchange information between databases.

WMS automatically plans all warehouse tasks strictly according to the configured principles and strategies. It allowed optimizing business processes, increasing storage density and eliminating human factor. Warehouse logistics management for the tetrad branch of Polotnyano-Zavodskaya Paper Manufactory now keeps pace with high-tech production, allowing the company to grow, develop and provide even more customers with products, while reducing to a minimum the possible errors of operators during shipment.
